Sustainability and Green Building

It is essential that building for future generations embraces tangible actions for environmental and social sustainability. We produce certified NHL 5 Natural Hydraulic Lime, and the entire production cycle for our products takes place within a radius of just 8 km, in a lush green valley in the Trentino region. We dedicate the utmost care and attention to every process, from mining activities on our own mineral sites to processing, and through constant investment, we have introduced innovative processing and transformation systems that allow us to operate in accordance with the criteria of environment regeneration and energy saving.

The choice of materials and the optimisation of processing and transformation have allowed us to achieve significant goals in terms of Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) and to obtain prestigious environmental certification, such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Biosafe emissivity certificates. Our products contribute to credit systems and requirements set by the most important national and international green building rating systems LEED, BREEAM, WELL and ARCA.

Sustainability protocols

LEED, BREEAM, WELL and ARCA are building certification systems that allow buildings to be planned and constructed in accordance with the criteria of sustainability, health, energy saving and comfort. Tassullo products have been mapped and are in line with the categories provided for the obtaining of credits, as listed in the relative contribution matrices.

COMMISSIONING

We are committed to guaranteeing transparent communication and to providing the most possible information throughout the supply chain, in order to ensure that our materials are applied correctly, resulting in quality interventions. Training courses, application checklists, detailed technical datasheets and packaging with all relative product information are just some of the measures adopted to achieve this goal.

COMPATIBLE FORMULATIONS

We pay the utmost attention to the sustainability and healthfulness of our products, favoring formulations that are compatible both environmentally and for indoor healthfulness. The percentages of heavy metals, orthophthalates, halogenated flame retardants (HFRs) and all substances restricted (SVHCs) under the European Union REACH regulation are regularly verified. The company's Dhomo research project has enabled the products used to be certified as low emissive, according to the Biosafe protocol.

EPD

Environmental Product Declaration

Tassullo premixed formulas are covered by EPD (Environmental Product Declaration). The document, which is prepared on a voluntary basis, provides an analytical and comparable declaration of the consumption of resources and the environmental impact in the various phases of the lifecycle of our products.

Our EPDs are prepared by Kiwa - Ecobility Experts on the bases of the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) developed by the University of Trento.

PRODUCT LIFECYCLE

Analysis of the end phases of the product life cycle, in addition to production phases, allows the weight of CO2 reabsorbed by the environment to be quantified.

Indoor Air Quality

We have formulated and tested a range of products dedicated to comfortable living. Thanks to the choice of extremely pure raw materials, mortars, screeds, plasters, skim coats, finishings and adhesives have all achieved the highest class of certification regarding emissions of harmful VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), in accordance with Biosafe Environmental Health Certification.

Circular economy: from the mining of dolomite to the regeneration of quarry spaces

Circular economy: from the mining of dolomite to the regeneration of quarry spaces

Tassullo plays a leading role in a unique regeneration project; the spaces created in the San Romedio Mine as a result of mining activity are converted into highly sustainable storage areas, and represent an excellent opportunity for companies that are seriously committed to reducing their ecological footprint.
