Macchi Pavilion: in the heart of the Olympic Village

Located in the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Village in Predazzo, ahead of the 2026 Winter Games, the Macchi Pavilion is part of the urban redevelopment plan. The project involves the structural reinforcement and reorganization of the spaces within the historic Guardia di Finanza barracks, ensuring safety, energy efficiency, and living comfort. The first three floors will be transformed into 69 rooms, capable of accommodating up to 132 athletes.

In light of this major renovation, targeted structural reinforcement work was required to improve the building’s seismic performance without compromising its historical and architectural value. Tassullo supplied the products for the CRM system CRM innovative connection system ARMIS ALL-IN-ONE connection system. The materials used are distinguishedby their high quality and compatibility with historic masonry, thanks to their natural hydraulic lime (NHL 5)-based formulation, which ensures the best balance between structural performance, workability, and compatibility with existing masonry.

The decision to adopt the ARMIS ALL-IN-ONE system has made it possible to optimize construction site operations, improving efficiency. ARMIS STRONG BAR rebar (10 mm in diameter, 120 cm in length) is cut directly on site, adapting precisely to the thickness of the masonry and eliminating or minimizing waste.

This approach ensured effective and lasting structural reinforcement of both single- and double-sided facades, while preserving the building's original characteristics.

Thanks to this project, the Macchi Pavilion will not only ensure a safe and comfortable environment for athletes during the Olympic Games, but will also serve as a model of sustainable and conservation-oriented redevelopment, enhancing the existing heritage with innovative technologies and high-performance materials.
